Lisa Fahey joined Advanced Instruments in May 2017 as the Director of Marketing. With over 16 years of marketing experience within the medical device industry, Lisa brings leadership to both customer focused product development and demonstrated commercial excellence. Previously she worked at Haemonetics Corporation for 10 years, where she worked in a variety of marketing leadership roles within the hospital and blood center markets. Lisa also worked at a communications agency developing integrated marketing campaigns for business-to-business clients. She earned her B.S. from Skidmore College in Management & Business and an M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
Corey Morcombe joined Advanced Instruments in 2020 as Vice-President of Sales, Americas. With over 16 years of experience in scientific instrumentation, Corey has a proven track record of building and leading high performing sales teams in clinical, biopharma, and food and beverage markets. Throughout his career he has introduced creative and effective sales methodologies with a focus on funnel generation, new product introductions, expanding scientific value propositions, and growing new markets. Previously, he served as the Eastern Regional Sales Director, then Americas Sale Director at PerkinElmer. Corey also spent 12 years at Agilent where he held a variety of roles ranging from Research Product Sales Manager to Global Commercialization Manager. He earned his MBA from Santa Clara University and his PhD from Yale University.
Bob Miller joined Advanced Instruments in April of 2017 as Vice-President, Operations. Bob brings over 22 years of expertise within medical device operations, providing strategic leadership of a cross-functional staff and development of key alliances to drive top-line and bottom-line financial performance. Previously he worked at Tegra Medical for 9 years, in multiple executive roles across Operations and the Genesis Tech Center. Bob also worked in life science operations at Smith Medical for 10 years. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management and Information Systems (OMIS) from University of Massachusetts.
Sue Hanlon joined Advanced Instruments in July of 2017 as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with over 30 years of professional experience. Prior to Advanced Instruments, Sue worked for Haemonetics Corporation, where she served as Vice-President, Finance and Corporate Controller, leading all aspects of finance (controllership, planning & analysis, taxes, treasury) for a $900M global medical device manufacturer. Sue also held the position of Partner at Arthur Andersen LLP, directing all aspects of audit engagements for companies across the manufacturing, technology and financial services sectors. Sue received her BBA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Bob Gonsalves joined Advanced Instruments in April 2016 as Director, Research & Development. He has over 30 years of professional experience as a product leader, with proven success in bringing new or acquired Class II single-use medical products and devices to market. Prior to joining Advanced Instruments, Bob served at Haemonetics Corporation, where he held several leadership roles within R&D, Operations, Program Management, and Product Management. Bob received his degree in BSME and Material Science at the University of Connecticut.
Erwin Van den Bogaert joined Advanced Instruments in September 2018 as Managing Director, International Markets. Erwin brings over 36 years of professional experience in the Life Science and Analytical industry and has demonstrated successes in driving profitable growth and building innovative channel partnerships. He previously worked at PerkinElmer, holding several leadership positions including VP/GM Sales & Service – PerkinElmer Life Science EMEA, Managing Director PerkinElmer N.V/S.A, and Senior Sales Director/Managing Director – Emerging Territories Discovery and Analytical Solutions. Erwin received his Master of Biochemistry from the University of Antwerp.
Sara Mackey joined Advanced Instruments in June of 2018 as Vice-President, Business Development and Corporate Strategy. Sara has over 25 years of professional experience in the pharmaceutical sector, and has demonstrated successes within strategy development, business analysis and product/services commercialization. She most recently served as Director of Product Marketing at Cell Signaling Technology prior to coming to Advanced Instruments. She has also worked at PerkinElmer and Thermo Fisher Scientific, where she worked within a variety of marketing and business development leadership positions. Sara received a BSc in Biomedical Science, specializing in Pharmacology from the University of Bradford (UK) and has a Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma.
Mark Boyle has served as Advanced Instruments Director of QA/RA since February 2018. Mark has over 25 years of professional experience within the medical devices industry and is skilled within quality systems management, quality operations, supplier management, continuous improvement and change management. He has held several roles at companies such as Phillips (Sr. Quality Systems Manager) and Medtronic (Sr. Quality Manager). Mark received a B.S. in Quality and Technology from Sligo IT, Ireland and an M.B.A from Endicott College. He also volunteers his time as Director of the New England Irish Cultural Center, Canton, MA.
Byron Selman joined Advanced Instruments in May 2017 as President and CEO. With a mix of technical and commercial expertise, Byron has successfully built high powered teams and led businesses through market expansions and strategic turnarounds particularly within the hospital, blood center, and biotech segments. Prior to Advanced Instruments, Byron worked at Haemonetics Corporation, where he served most recently as President of Global Markets. Additionally, his career at Pall Corporation spanned over 20 years across various executive level and general management positions including President, Medical Division. Byron received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University and his M.B.A. from the Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University.
