Solentim ICON™ Productivity Analyzer

Combined human IgG1 titer, VCD and productivity analyzer

Streamlining ranking and selection of productive clones

The ICON enables scientists in the biotherapeutic development industry to digitally transform their process and make informed decisions quicker, earlier, and more securely. ICON measures titer, viable cell density, and specific productivity in the Cell Line Development of therapeutic antibodies. It is integrated into the STUDIUS™ decision making platform which combines ICON productivity data with clonality and confluence data from Cell Metric® X and/or VIPS® PRO to rank clones automatically, instantaneously, and without error.

Cell viability and productivity assays in one instrument

Rapid Productivity assays

The ICON titer assay is relatively fast and involves fewer preparation steps compared to the incumbent assays.

Efficient use of bench-space

Prior to ICON, two instruments were required to measure cell viability and productivity, with an associated price tag. ICON is an efficient use of space due to combining both measurements in one box at a price considerably lower than that associated with two separate units.

Industry Applications

Low volume productivity assay

Titer is measured using fluorescence polarization and needs only 60 μl per assay. This means that titer can be measured earlier in the process, for example in Day 14 static cloning plates or 48 or 24 DW suspension shaking plates. Earlier titer measurements allow earlier stratification of high producing clones.

Low volume cell viability assay

Viable cell density is measured using Trypan blue exclusion. Cultures up to 10 million cells/mL can be counted and the count is qualified with a supporting high resolution image showing the denotation of live versus dead cells. The assay requires only 20 μL of sample, much less than incumbent cell viability analyzers requiring several hundreds of microliters.

FAQs

The titer plates are coated with Protein G which binds to the Fc portion of IgG molecules.

The ICON can complete 24 cell counts in under 4 minutes.

Combining viability and titer in one instrument saves bench-space and cost, Low volume assays allow scientists to make clone selection decisions earlier, Faster and more accurate titer measurements

By providing consistency across the entire cell line development workflow from seeding to clone selection

  • Elimination of human error in the analysis and interpretation of clonality, titer and viability results
  • Tracking of clones across the cell line development process from seeding to selection
  • Reduction of analysis time related to clone selection from days to minutes
