Protinol™ and Renol™ Osmolality Controls

The right controls matter. As your osmometer manufacturer we recommend using Protinol™ Protein-Based Controls and Renol™ Urine Osmolality Controls to confirm osmometer performance in a clinical setting.

Our controls help your lab meet CAP and CLIA guidelines; comply with regulations which recommend running multiple controls at different concentrations daily to verify assay performance at relevant levels. Read our new whitepaper, “Evaluation of Commercially Available Osmometer Control Solutions,” to learn about the best practices for osmometer quality control.

Protinol and Renol verify instrument performance at clinically relevant osmolality levels and offer the tightest ranges amongst commercially available control solutions.

Use Protinol Protein-Based Controls to evaluate performance when testing serum, plasma, or stool. Available at three clinically relevant levels:

  • Low: 240, Normal: 280, and High: 320 mOsm/kg H2O

Use Renol Urine Osmolality Controls to evaluate performance when testing urine. Available at two clinically relevant levels:

  • Low: 300, and High: 800 mOsm/kg H2O

Use our free AdvancedQC online peer program to compare your results with other labs.
