Advanced Instruments Acquires D & F Control Systems Inc.

NORWOOD, MASSACHUSETTS, USA, September 15, 2008 -- Advanced Instruments, Inc., of Norwood, Massachusetts, announced today that it has acquired 100% of the shares of D & F Control Systems, Inc., of Dublin, CA. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

D & F Control Systems manufactures and markets milk preservative products and somatic cell dyes for laboratories around the world. Their patented preservatives ensure component analysis accuracy through a neutralized absorbency formula, purity of ingredients and long-term stability. The tablet dye product provides laboratory technicians with a safer, economical and easier method for making stock dye solutions.

Advanced Instruments is a major supplier to the dairy industry, providing instrumentation for cryoscopy, pasteurization confirmation, component analysis and somatic cell counting. The company provides products that are internationally recognized as benchmarks for performance.

Advanced Instruments to Showcase Model 3320 Osmometer at 2008 AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo

One-step osmometry delivers accurate, reliable results in one minute

Advanced Instruments, Inc., of Norwood, Massachusetts, will showcase the Model 3320 Single-Sample Micro-Osmometer at the 2008 AACC Annual Meeting and Clinical Lab Expo. The Model 3320 is an automated, single-sample freezing point depression (FPD) micro-osmometer that determines the total concentration of dissolved molecules in biological fluids, such as serum or urine.
